Pricing & Booking
How do I reserve you for a session?
As soon as we have decided on a date and time for your session you will be officially booked!
What forms of payment do you accept?
For easy payment you may use cash or check or If you prefer PayPal is also available.
Do you charge for travel?
I want to keep it as simple for you as I can, so for big sessions there are no travel fees. In most cases for in home Newborn & Birth the travel costs are included, for smaller sessions I normally charge a small travel fee if the travel time exceeds 40 miles (one way). I make sure that in case there would be costs due to travelling, that I point it out right away so you can consider it in your budgeting.
Photography
How would you describe your shooting style?
I love candid moments and the real life emotions that happen between the wonderful people I get to photograph. In your session I focus on the interactions of you and whoever you're with and try to give you as much space as possible, but of course also guide you if necessary! Standing in front of the camera is not an everyday occurrence, so I want you to be as comfortable and relaxed as possible.
Do you offer unedited RAW photos?
absolutely not!! I never truly understood why people ask for these from photographers. You will be provided with the edited images only. Each photo is carefully handled and spent lots of time turning into perfection and will be a representation of my work. Be sure to look at my portfolio and that my work and style are a good match for you before booking.
Do I receive all of the images you take?
I go thoroughly through all the images I take during a session and will take out the obviously unusable ones in a first step. We also reduce the amount of duplicates so you can enjoy only the best of the best images. In the end you will get all the images left over that make it into the final collection.
The Session
What happens if we are running late or vice versa to our shoot? Will you extend the shooting time?
It is my practice to arrive early to my shoots, as I like to scope out the surroundings and get my creative mind going beforehand. If for some reason I am are late I will do my best to extend the time or if the time is substantial and the shoot is unsuccessful I will refund all or part of the money. If a client is late I will do my best in the time that is remaining to get everything needed, but I don’t extend the session time.
My newborn sessions can sometimes can become longer than the time frame available for no extra cost because let's be real babies will do what they want when they want no matter what. I do this so parents can be relaxed and happy during the session and don’t need to be stressed about the timeframe.
What if the weather is bad the day of our session?
To be honest I am all for playing in the rain if you are!! In the case of bad weather we will improvise! Sometimes that means finding shelter or finding other creative way to capture the moment. If the weather is potentially damaging to my equipment we will be restricted to areas that we can safely shoot. If light rain is in the forecast that is not a reason in itself to cancel a session, but if possible I’ll try our best to find alternative arrangement – e.g. change locations, wait the weather out, etc. Please note, If the weather is severe (tornados, thunderstorm warnings/watch, hail, snowstorms) or looks like it will become severe the day of we can reschedule as a worst case scenario.
After the session
How soon will I receive my sneak peeks?
I personally like to deliver sneak peeks to clients within a couple days of the session which includes around 5 pictures. Based on the session you receive will effect the turn around time of your final gallery {look on the investments tab to see turn around times}
Do you offer online viewing?
Yes, all our packages come with an easy to access online gallery so you can view and share your images with friends and family. Galleries will only be open for 90 days before the link expires. After the 90 days if it needs to be reopened there will be a $70.00 reopening fee charged.
You can also purchase a USB Flash-drive with your final gallery on it for $10.00 that will be mailed out to you once payment is received.
Do you backup images? How can I be sure our images won’t get lost?
In the editing process I ensure that I have multiple copies of your images at all times! I’ll also store your images for a minimum of one year, but please make sure you store them in a safe place as well so you don’t loose them. Printing the final images is the best way to preserve them, but I recommend multiple copies in safe places so you don't panic over lost sessions.
